EAW Debuts JFL210 Extremely Compact Line Array

EAW JFL210The JFL210 compact line array module packs a whole lot of technology and innovation into a miniscule, light weight package that’s an ideal solution in meeting the needs of a multitude of small- and medium-sized applications, including a wide range of portable and installed A/V, as well as musician/DJ.

Incorporating constant curvature line array design principles, JFL210 modules form easily configured arrays with very predictable output and coherence, with coverage that is both horizontally symmetric and consistent from short to long throws. And, despite the compact size, modules and arrays both deliver exceptionally high output capability and predictable pattern control.

The JFL210 can be flown or stacked in a variety of ways. The enclosure size, shape, weight, and rigging are optimized for transport and deployment by one person. Each module measures just 12.3 inches (h) by 24.8 inches (w) by 13.6 inches (d) and weighs only slightly more than 50 pounds. Enclosures can be pole-mounted, and arrays can also be easily flown, ground stacked, and even attached to existing structures in applications such as theatre, where stage and/or balcony fascias may exist.

Each two-way, full-range JFL210 module incorporates neodymium drivers that provide superior performance and tireless durability while also further reducing weight. Two 10-inch (2.5-inch voice coil) woofers deliver tight, punchy low-frequency performance, while the 3-inch (1.4-inch-exit) compression driver is closely matched with a horn that provides precise pattern control for optimum array performance. These high-wattage components contribute to a maximum peak output of more than 130 dB (SPL), allowing JFL210 arrays to comfortably fill vast spaces.

JFL210 modules offer a nominal 15 degrees vertical beamwidth to go with a 90-degree nominal horizontal beamwidth. This allows vertical of up to six units to be easily constructed, and with added flexibility to attain optimum performance and coverage results.

Both single- and bi-amp modes are provided (user switchable). In single-amp (passive) mode, an array compensation switch on each module provides further tailoring. As a result, arrays and single boxes can be further refined to meet specific applications in terms of factors like air loss, with the user able to select between multi-box long, multi-box short and single box settings.

Performance can be further tailored with an EAW UX8800 digital processor (8 inputs by 4 outputs) that functions as an excellent overall system manager, processor and controller, while its Gunness Focusing alignment and driver processing algorithms dramatically enhance JFL210 line array performance.

EAWPilot control software provides comprehensive DSP control of the UX8800, while its renowned Wizard modeling software helps in automatically configuring array DSP for optimal performance fitting specific audience areas, greatly simplifying system setup and alignment.

The dual Neutrik NL4 Speakon connectors on every JFL210 module are wired in parallel so that either jack accepts input from the amplifier(s) and loops the signal(s) through to the second jack. The input panel also houses the recessed powering mode switch and the array compensation switch.

JFL210 enclosure shape, size, and weight are optimized for transport by just one person, with side handles further easing lifting and carrying. One person can build arrays of up to four modules via the integral rigging system that offers features a 10:1 safety factor as well as superior balance and stability, with an optimized flybar available as well.

Installed applications can benefit from a more simple flying with eyebolts on the top of the cabinets. The array angle can be set using a pull-back line affixed to additional eyebolts on the bottom enclosure. Further, up to two modules can be pole mounted via a dual-angle pole socket on the bottom of each enclosure that provides aiming flexibility.
Overall construction matches the high standards long applied EAW portable products. Cabinets are protected by our tough RoadCoat finish that is highly scratch-resistant, and the grille is durable stainless steel. Cabinets come in black and white as standard.
