Clapton is "Back Home" with Audix

Eric Clapton“Back Home” is Eric Clapton's first album of original material in several years, follows the historic and heralded Cream reunion and 2004's gold, Top 10 “Me and Mr. Johnson” covers disc (and it's audio/video companion, “Sessions for Robert J”). And to deliver this legendry sound to an eagerly waiting live audience is Robert Collins who is one of the UK's most experienced front-of-house engineers.

For the 2006 tour, which takes in much of Europe and the U.S. Robert chosen Audix Micro D’s for the Toms and the D6 for the kick. “The D6 is great. When we first tried it during rehearsals we couldn’t believe how big the sound was” remarked Robert who had previously used Audix on the U.S. Cream tour.

Concert Sound who are providing the PA for the UK leg of the tour are also big Audix fans having used various Audix mics with Mark Knopfler, Paul McCartney, Tom Jones, Chicane and The Stories who are presently touring with Elton John.

The D6 is an American-made instrument microphone designed for live and studio performance. Characterized with a cardioid pick-up pattern and a frequency response of 30 Hz-15 kHz, the D6 is an ideal choice for kick drum, bass cabs, and other instruments requiring low frequency reproduction.
