SIA Software Unveils Smaart 6
Latest version represents the most significant update yet to the industry-standard sound system measurement and analysis software, including full support for Macintosh Computers. NSCA, Las Vegas, NV – March 16, 2006 – SIA Software announced today the release of SmaartLive Version 6—a significant update that includes a host of new features and a reworked architecture that allows Smaart to run native under both Mac OS X and Windows from the same unified source code. "Smaart 6 has literally been rebuilt from the ground up utilizing a significantly modernized architecture," explains Smaart product manager Jamie Anderson. "As a result, Smaart will now benefit from the power of the latest microprocessors and multitasking operating systems in both Mac and Windows environments." Gary Riley, Sr. Vice President of Engineering for SIA's parent LOUD Technologies added, "We're extremely committed to the Macintosh platform for all of our products. As such, we are actively pursuing the implementation of universal binary support for Smaart and are looking forward to full integration with Intel-based Macintosh platforms in the very near future." In addition to it's improved cross-platform functionality, SIA also developed a streamlined user interface and more advanced feature set for Smaart 6—incorporating feedback collected from over a decade of input from the largest user base in the industry. As a result, the improved user environment enables users to dive deeper into the power of software while preserving the renowned usability of previous Smaart versions. Upgrades include: New Real-Time Measurement Mode * Two-channel RTA: Selectable linear or fractional octave
banding (1/24th octave), peak-hold, THD calculation, user-defined
timed averaging, and standard Noise Criterion curves (when
calibrated for SPL measurement); Enhanced Impulse Response Mode Version 6's Impulse Response Mode has also been expanded to include intuitive tools for analyzing and dissecting IR measurements on the fly. These tools include a new 3-D Spectrogram view that provides a powerful hybrid of Time and Frequency domain views of a system response measurement, and a user-specified time window function for retrieving frequency domain data from specific portions of an impulse response.
