Wheatstone E2 Ethernet Audio System Wins Pick Hit Award at NAB

 

Wheatstone E2WHEATSTONE’s E2 (E SQUARE) Ethernet Audio System provides costeffective audio delivery at a competitive price point for radio and TV stations seeking to incorporate traditional broadcast engineering functions into the emerging IT environment. Designed to interface with Wheatstone’s existing line of Evolution Series audio control surfaces, the flexible E2 System is comprised of linkable units (SQUAREs) that communicate with one another via a single CAT 5E/6 cable connected to standard layer 3 Ethernet switches.

THERE ARE THREE I/O MODELS AVAILABLE: the 88a (8 analog inputs/8 analog outputs), the 88d (8 AES inputs/8 AES outputs) and the 88ad (4 analog inputs/4 analog outputs and 4 AES inputs/4 AES outputs). Each can be connected via DB-25 or RJ-45 connectors. All models have 12 Universal Logic ports and front panel metering, allowing the user to monitor inputs or outputs. 12 Status indicators give a quick look at SQUARE status from links to sample rate. Each SQUARE also has a Setup Wizard with built-in I/O templates to help users get started. All units have front panel access to features like IP setting, up time, network traffic, logic status, etc.

MODEL E E2 DIGITAL ENGINE
This is the Mix Engine SQUARE that handles all of the mixes from Wheatstone Evolution Series E-4, E-5, or E-6 digital audio control surfaces. The Engine does not house audio I/O but it does include 12 Universal logic ports. This is the SQUARE that houses all DSP power for an individual control surface. It distributes the PGM, AUX, Mix Minus, and other bus signals to the network system. Like other SQUARE components, the Digital Engine also has a web interface for easy configuration and setup. Each SQUARE has front panel access to features like IP setting, up time, network traffic, logic status, etc.
